good morning

yes i know ive been rather quiet, but i have just started the summer market, where by i work 3 nights a week selling on my market stall to tourists and locals

i have however managed to finish a few little pieces in between
but i warn you i may only post once a fortnight until the beginning of september
this is when the market will finish for another year
the good thing about this market is you get to meet lots of interesting like minded people
who actually love what you do
anyways enough blabbing on or i wont actually want to do any sewing today
and its soooo hot that i may just have to take an hour out to visit the pool, lol
my first W I P finished was this wedding lap quilt
sorry only took one pic of this will get more laters

i then tried my hand at rag quilting and at first i didnt like it, but after i washed it to fluff it up a bit i kinda of really do like it now , he he he

next up i made two more of the little notepad sets as these are selling really well with the spanish so already im running out of them, the only problem is now the shop where i was getting the little dress notepads from say they cannot get any more, ooooh nooooo, what to do now big problem, have to probably spend a whole day trying to source them somewhere else miles away, any ways i think i will leave the new photo album for tomorrows post, please come again soon, bye bye x

2 WIP´s FINISHED

YEY just finished 2 works in progress and have now caught up with myself and that feels good

the first one is the BORO inspired lap quilt i told you about a while ago, it was going sooo slow
but yesterday i sat there all day just to finish it, i even hand stitched the binding to the edge, which let me tell you was not easy
my fingers hurt badly when i finished it
but im really pleased with the look of it, well worth the wait
it measures in at approx 48 in x 54 in
and noooo i did not back it as i like to be able to see the stitches on both sides ,lol

and for my second item i finished a beautiful cathedral window cushion cover it measures in at 40cm x 40cm, and the front is totally hand sewn, it is in lilac and white squares with heart windows, and i i have stitched little flowers at random , hope you like it, both will be in etsy shop laters, the link of which is at bottom of page

hope you all have a fabulous day, im now off to finish another cushion cover, with a betty boop theme, just because i found the fabric hidden in my cupboard xxxxx

attention lapse again

ooops had another lapse of concentration yesterday, my wedding photo was staring at me and begging to be put into a frame, but what to do when you dont have one the right size....you make one, it is entirely made from recycled fabric and wedding bits...of course..the windows are cut from marks tie, the bling at top from my tiara, the lace along bottom edge was my garter and bow at top was wrapped around my bouquet,
sorry its a bit blurry but you can get the idea,.......

before i had this lapse i did finish and add more squares to my quilt, it is now 6 squares by 6, i also spent a little bit of time on my boro inspired quilt which is growing quite rapidly
im loving the bits of red that ive added, this kinda works for me and makes it less boring in colour,....ok i think thats it for my w.i.p.s.......off to do some sewing before son gets home from school xxxxxxx

HELLO BLOG WORLD

hope all my fav people are all well today

i am so happy i have made small but good progress on three of my w.i.p quilts
the first one being the wedding quilt, i managed to add three more squares this morning in between mopping two terraces... after gale force winds blew down my grapevine, i know my fault for not pùtting it up securely in the first place,

the second progress report is on the happy scrappy quilt where i added 5 more squares... doing a happy dance around the front room as its getting bigger by the day, wee hee

i am loving the fact that i get to use sooooo many differant colours

and lots of bead and trims
oooh and this is my BORO inspired quilt, i know i said i would do one piece on it per day....but hey i get side tracked easily with other things, so made made sure i put three pieces on it this morning, in fact i think ive had a really goood productive morning, now i think i may have to have another cup of tea while i ponder over doing the ironing , or not as the case may be,lol,
ok then my dear bloggers im off again now to get the kettle on and maybe find some more amazing blogs to read, then i will do the ironing

bye bye

Thursday 29 May 2014

ITS THURSDAY ALREADY

i just could not wait any longer for more squares so i started to put

not got far so far but heres a sneak peak it will be twice the size tomorrow

oh my have just come back from a 45 min bike ride, need exercise you see, sitting sewing 24/7 is no good.....well 45 mins you say is that all, but i can tell you in the heat it is quite tiring....mind you i did stop off in the charity shop on the way...and filled my backpack with this weeks stash of preloved sheeting fabrics
when washed dried and aired all will be cut into 9" squares ready for my cathedral windows crazy quilt, am so determined to get this one to double bed size, lol
so this little pile when i got my breath back was cut up ready for the ironing board where i shall iron in my seam allowance
and this is a square i have just finished beading i am soooo pleased with how its turned out ,not sure if you can see the beading properly, but i lovey it,
okey dokey have to go and visit some more blogs, following -2 bags full -and there are so many other beautiful blogs to follow i fear i shall be on there a while, ok by for now jannette
